hair removal
Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent
The FDA allows us to guarantee permanent hair reduction by
up to 80%.
How does laser hair removal work?
The GentleLASE, a revolutionary long’ pulse high-energy
Alexandrite laser system, emits a beam of light that passes
through the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed.
The laser energy is transformed into heat, which disables
the follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unchanged.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Some patients compare laser hair removal to a “snapping” feeling.
Our GentleLASE places a burst of cryogen spray onto the skin
before and after the laser pulse. Most patients experience
little discomfort at the treatment site because of this Dynamic
Cooling Devise.
What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?
You must avoid bleaching, plucking, or waxing hair for 3-4
weeks prior to treatment. If you have done so, a treatment
can be given, but may be less effective since hair removal
works best on hair follicles in the growth stage.
How Many Treatments will I need?
Hair grows in cycles. The number of treatments required depends
upon your skin, hair coloring and coarseness of the hair.
Everyone will require at least 2-3 treatments, as the process
is only effective on hair during their growing cycle. Repeated
sessions will be necessary to treat these follicles when
they re-enter the growth phase. Three to five treatments
is the commonest treatment program.
How long will this procedure take?
The procedure can take as little as 10 Minutes or up to an
hour, depending on the area being treated. All patients
can go home immediately following treatment.
Will laser hair removal work on light hair?
Laser treatments target pigment or color below the skin.
If your hair is light and the bulb is light this might
not be the treatment for you. Many patients with light
hair seek
Dermalplaning as their treatment of choice.
What is Dermal Planing?
Dermal Planing is manual removal of dead skin cells along with
your light velous hair.
Is there any downtime with laser hair removal?
The treatment area may become pink or red within about 30
minutes of treatment; this may last from a few hours to
several days.
Is there any harm that can come from laser hair removal?
Most patients are not aware that laser hair removal works
with the use of a photon. The light released from the laser
is similar to that of multiple flashes from a camera.
What is the cost of laser hair removal?
The value of laser treatment is its effectiveness and cost
compared to previous time-consuming procedures such as
electrolysis and waxing. Our fees are competitive and discounts
are given for package purchases.
Is laser hair removal covered by insurance?
Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for cosmetic
procedures; however, consult your insurance carrier for
more information.

Frequently asked question: FotoFacial
What is FotoFacial?
IPL Photo rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that can
erase various types of skin damage without disrupting the
skin’s surface. The patented IPL non-laser technology
supplies a broad spectrum of light that reaches deep down
to the collagen producing level of the skin and remarkably
reduces the signs of aging.
What areas can be treated?
FotoFacial treatments can be used on any part of the skin
but they are most effective for improving the appearance
of the face, neck and chest.
What results can I expect?
You can expect to see a gradual decrease in the skin’s
overall redness, flushing and dilated capillaries. People
with visible aging from the sun can expect to see their skin
become smoother with a decrease in fine wrinkles, reduction
in pore size and fading of sun spots.
What is a FotoFacial treatment like?
Each treatment takes approximately 30-40 minutes depending
on the size of the area to be treated. The skin may appear
red and flushed and tiny capillaries may appear more visible
following a treatment. Brown spots will generally appear
darker. All of these changes will gradually fade over time.
How soon will I see results?
After your first treatment, your skin will feel smoother
and will have a more even tone. These improvements are
gradual and will be more visible after each treatment.
Six treatments are performed for optimal results.
Am I a candidate for FotoFacial?
FotoFacials are recommended to anyone who suffers from rosacea,
or experiences flushing or redness of the skin. People
with early aging changes, sun damage, freckling, hyper
pigmentation, or anyone that desires healthier more youthful
skin.

Frequently asked questions: Treatment
of spider veins
How does a laser work on veins?
The laser light penetrates the skin. The heat from the laser
is absorbed by the vessel causing a vasoconstriction. The
vessel wither disappears instantly or fades over time.
How many treatments are needed?
Many leg veins will require multiple treatments, so the effect
can be complete.
How much improvement can be expected?
Over time excellent results occur.
Are there any side effects?
Only minor side effects can occur. Treated areas may be slightly
red or swollen for a few days.
How painful is it to treat veins?
Most patients say the treatment feels like a pin prick. The
entire procedure is brief and non-invasive.
Laser Light vs.: Sclerotherapy?
Laser therapy is fast and virtually pain-free, requiring
no needled or compression wrapping.

Frequently asked questions:
Microdermabrasion
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a skin restoration process utilizing
a controlled vacuum and aluminum oxide crystals to gently
clear away dead and sun damaged skin.
What are the benefits of microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion activates the collagen fibers in the skin
through increased stimulation and circulation. Therefore
enhancing your skins appearance and texture.
How Much Time is needed for each treatment?
Patients usually spend one hour from start to finish
Is Microdermabrasion painful?
No, some patients tell us it feels a bit like sandpaper,
similar to receiving affection from a cat!
How does Microdermabrasion work?
A hand held device is moved over the skin emitting a controlled
jet of micro-crystals which gently remove superficial layers
of dead skin.
How soon will I see results?
Results will be noticed immediately. Microdermabrasion is
best done initially in a series. Usually 5-6 treatments
spaced 7-10 days apart. Microdermabrasion is frequently
done in combination with a Lactic, Jessners, Glycolic,
or Retin A peel.

Frequently asked questions: Facial
Peels
How does a Glycolic Acid Peel work?
Glycolic acid works by stimulating new growth of skin and
collagen by decreasing the bond that holds dead skin cells
on the surface. This allows dead cells to be removed gradually
leaving behind a layer of smoother and softer skin.
What percentage of glycolic is right for me?
50% Glycolic Acid is great for mature skin.
40% Glycolic Acid is used for dry, dehydrated, and normal
skin
30% Glycolic Acid is used on sensitive, oily skin
What is a Lactic Acid Peel?
Lactic Acid is derived from sour milk, and is much milder
on the skin versus other peels.
If you have Roscea, this is an excellent peel for you. This
peel is great for treating more mature skin types.
What is a Jessners Peel?
A Jessners peel or a “Tune-Up” peel is used to
alleviate inflammation and discoloration from acne scarring
and to dry up acne. A jessners peel is applied starting with
one layer and may include as many as 6-8. After 4-8 days
the skin will look renewed. The results can be dramatic.
What is a Retin-A peel?
A Retin-A peel is for those who want a deeper exfoliation
to help erase dark spots, sun damage and fine lines. This
peel is specifically compounded for Silk MD as a medical
grade peel. After having a Retin-A peel, you are just days
away from having the skin you had years ago. These peels
can be done on any range of skin color and for those who
are not candidates for photo-rejuvenation.
