Lactic 10% - 55%
When Lactic Acid is applied to the skin, it chemically
exfoliates the outer surface of the skin and encourages new cell
turnover. Lactic Acid is a natural humectant, pulling moisture
from the collagen levels to the surface of skin. It has a “plumping” effect,
particularly on dry and dehydrated skin. This treatment is
relatively non-irritating with very little, if any, down time
for the patient. Lactic works extremely well on dry and sun
damaged skin.
Contra-Indications: Milk Allergies
Glycolic 20% - 55%
When Glycolic acid is applied to the skin, it chemically exfoliates
the outer surface of the skin and encourages new cell turnover.
This Treatment is relatively non – irritating with little
down time for the patient. If you want to see more clarity
in the surface texture of the skin, soften lines and other
topical marks this is the peel for you. This is a perfect peel
for dull skin that needs to be refreshed. Glycolic works best
on oily to normal skin.
Contra-Indications: Allergies to sugar cane or strawberries.
Salicylic 10% - 30% —
A Silk MD Favorite
Salicylic acid is a superior exfoliant that improves the appearance
of aging skin. In addition to exfoliating the cells of the outer
layer of skin it has also been show to exfoliate the cells of
the interior of skin pores. Salicylic acid is best suited to
oily acne prone skin. Patients can expect skin sensitivity for
24-48 hours, moderate flaking for 2-4 days.
Contra-Indications: Aspirin Allergies
Jessner’s
This a medium depth peel designed to for patients who have already
experienced a light peel and who want a deeper exfoliation.
Jessner’s solution is very effective for a wide range
of patients, with particularly positive benefits for those
with: photo damage, active acne, acne prone / oily skin, acne
scarring, and medium wrinkling. Patients have the potential
to peel for 7 – 10 days.
Pre-Treatment considerations apply.
Contra-Indications: Severe milk and aspirin allergies.
TCA
This is a deeper peeling class of acid used for acne scaring,
lines above the lip, freckles, wrinkles and hyper pigmentation.
This acid penetrates the epidermis into the upper layers of
the dermis. You can expect to peel for 5-7 days, what is revealed
is “new” skin with long lasting results.
